All the boat trips — El Fronton, Los Haitises, Cayo Levantado — run in perfect conditions. If you want great weather, fewer people, and better value, come in May.
July to August — Warm & Lively
The height of Dominican summer holidays, so beaches are lively with local families. Warmer temperatures (mid-80s) and higher humidity, with occasional short afternoon showers that pass quickly. Water is at its warmest and the vibe is festive. Great time for zipline, ATV tours and diving. Book weekend excursions ahead — locals fill spots too.

The rainiest and least busy months. Hurricane risk is technically higher (September–October), though the DR is often spared and Samaná is well-sheltered.
